Компания Intel представила прототип умных очков дополненной реальности Vaunt, которые проецируют изображение прямо на сетчатку глаз.
Лазер, который проецирует изображение, встроенный прямо в оправу и незаметный для окружающих. Устройство потребляет очень мало энергии и поэтому может работать без подзарядки до 18 часов.
Смарт-очки Intel Vaunt выглядят почти как обычные очки в пластиковой оправе. При этом они легче 50 граммов, включая линзы, аккумулятор, процессор, Bluetooth-чип, компас, акселерометр и проектор. Это слегка больше веса обычных очков, но заметно меньше чем, например, Google Glass.
Зато в них не предусмотрен ряд функций Google Glass, отсутствуют динамик и камера. За изображение отвечает маломощный лазерный монохромный проектор, выдает 400х150 пикселей красного цвета на голографический рефлектор, расположенный на правой линзе очков, затем изображение отражается прямо в глаза пользователя. Отмечается, что благодаря малой мощности система безвредна для глаз.
Внешне очки почти не отличаются от обычных очков для слабовидящих людей, должен прийтись по вкусу потребителям.
Intel планирует предоставить очки разработчикам до конца 2018 года.
